Dear Bengaluru Citizen,

Santhosh Patil, a Contractor working on Government projects, committed suicide on 12th April 2022, citing unpaid dues running into crores of rupees for more than 2 years and directly blaming Rural Development & Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Minister KS Eshwarappa for his death.

Contractors are suffering. Citizens are suffering. Bengaluru is suffering. Karnataka is suffering.

Let’s demand the Chief Minister of Karnataka to compensate the family of Santhosh Patil, initiate independent action against the accused Minister and his Associates and most importantly, put an end to this rampant corruption in contracts by bringing in transparency.

Let’s sign the below petition in large numbers so that we can collectively put pressure on the CM and Government of Karnataka to take concrete action on this rampant corruption, which is threatening to destroy Bengaluru & Karnataka.

To,

Hon’ble Chief Minister,
Government of Karnataka.

Dear Chief Minister,

  • ₹17,000 crores in unpaid dues!

  • Payments pending for many years!

  • 40% bribe being demanded in every contract!

  • Contractors want to do good work but are not allowed to, because of this rampant corruption!

The above points form the gist of the letter written by the Association of Contractors to the Prime Minister a few months back in November 2021. No action was taken on that.

Santhosh Patil had alleged earlier that the RDPR Minister KS Eshwarappa had been harassing him for a commission of 40% to clear the bills. The contractor had also said that rural development minister K S Eshwarappa should be held responsible in the event of any harm towards his life. In spite of these allegations and the letter written earlier by the Contractors’ Association, there has been absolutely no action taken by the CM or the Government.

And as of 11th April 2022, Santosh Patil, committed suicide citing unpaid dues running into crores of rupees owed to him for more than 2 years. In his suicide note, he has directly blamed the Minister KS Eshwarappa for his death.
